How I Took My Shoots~

Like i say before, photography is full of fun and exciting experience, discover how i took this wonderfull shot as you go through every pictures.

What do you guys think about this? i edited it in photoshop with layers. Top layer was BnW, base layer was colored. i used erasers and a bit of burning here and there for the photo. pluss i tweaked the colors a bit to let it stand out. if you wish to know more.... i can teach you=)

This one of the first shots i took during the first few days right after i got my Pentax k10d. the colors are a bit underexposed yet it was purposedly meant to be so. i'm trying to portray some dramatic effect to the whole scene.

This shot was taken using my Canon Powershot A540 (who says a digital compact can't get great effect like this!!!). all i did was increase the shutter speed, waited for the right momment and snap. Timing is important here...

This is also quite simple, slow down your shutter speed. check for the brightness in your lcd screen, dont just hand held it, make sure your camera is solidly stable to avoid movemment. for this, i placed my Canon Powershot A540 on a stable ground, set the shutter release to 2seconds and crossed fingers"!~ (again, who say a humble digital compact can't take great shot!!!)

This scene is the same as the one taken above. this was taken from another side of the walkway, which is on the right side. i couldn't rest the camera on any solid structure, so what i did was rest my hands while holding the camera on one of the raillings and held my breath. it was quite challanging since the Thai Sky Train caused the ground to shake. however, waiting for the right time pays you well... like this shot...

A Freelance Photographer Hectic Lifestyle

It’s been a while since I decided freelancing as a photographer, my daily life besides studying also includes practicing my photo editing skills, it’s a hobby that fascinates and boost enthusiasm. This week,4th week of the year 2008, I’m really laid with loads of responsibilities, from meetings to daily assignments, it just keep coming in. Well that’s unavoidable since its… common…

(Malaysia Airlines Tickets.... for sale)
This week’s Wednesday, I went to the MAS office to deal with some ticketing issue for my friends. (WOW Frisco, so kind of you)… that’s also part of my “service” for society. There are about 5 tickets which I have to reconfirm their flights schedule. I arrived at the office at 2 but waited for almost 30 minutes to get to the counter. My number is 79 and the current number is 77 yet I waited for quite a time.

(My Working bag, where i use to put in my laptop, digital camera... and... other stuff..)
It’s not the MAS attendance problem; apparently it’s the costumer who has been chatting with the female attendance… luckily I didn’t take their photo because I was like “hey dude, don’t you know at your back waiting is a photographer, I can let you get published in the headlines you know…!” kinda thing. Harsh, but I can’t avoid thinking about it…

(my BAG.... )
While waiting, I manage to get some creative shots to loosen my boredom. This is my bag that I bought for half the price of 2000bath over in Thailand that day. In it, I store my laptop, digital compact camera, mp4 and other stuff. Very nice bag, it’s a 4 in one bag… there’s a strip for carrying on your shoulder, two backpack stripe, a carrying handle to carry it like a suite case, and then you can backhand carry it too. Nice huh?

(tense.... evryone argue for something... worth argueing...)
Sometimes on certain photography assignment, I prefer to bring this bag with me, I store my laptop, memory cards, D SLR, lens, cables and other equipments in this single bag. Not as safe as the well known photographer bag- Lowepro for sure, but for now, this is somehow good enough for me. Oh, I can hang my tripod too on it… good huh?

(during the meeting which turn out to be... quite disapointing)
In the evening, right after coming back, I didn’t have the time to rest; I’m required to go for a meeting for the Student Representative Department that same evening. Luckily the shower did refresh me, it’s best to have the shock of mix cold fusion to your skin, blood flows really well, causing you to feel… revived…

(My Friend, Carl with his pretty stress face)
Hectic? Not really, I didn’t share it all. If you are in my place… you will be… hell….

Photography Watermarks

Someone has just given comments to my pictures through Yahoo Messanger, at last, someone appeared and criticized me.. (something that i have been long waiting for)...

Im currently upgrading and promoting my service for you. Im currently upgrading my camera kit for better performance, besides that, im also thinking of creating a simple, objective and creative watermarks for my photo's...

(My Watermark)

At the moment, i have tried ACD text adding and its a bit.... uncreative and old fashioned, so i begin designing using Photoshop C2 and got one, yet its still very disturbing to the whole view of the photo...

I'm also thinking of setting a website with my own domain name. that would easily link viewers directly to my photos and blogs, including other sites related to me & photography. current software for building is Microsoft Frontpage, but it's not that good enough. Dreamweaver is one of the good ones, however i'm exploring Flash maker... for a more artistic and dynamic site... heh~ the site will probably get published by mid year. with the domain name that you might be able to guess... try if you can~?

Buffeeee at Tangs Dynasty

Desserts…
Here i come....
hungry and thirsty...
feed me.... please...

That day, we went to Tangs Dynasty Hotel, went to find something good to eat. It was on the 21’s of January and we were all starving (as we already planned to eat less that afternoon and eat much for dinner)… Good! Great idea! With a budget of RM40, we ran into Tangs Dynasty to taste its buffet style (erm, should I call it restaurant?)… well, I forget whether its RM38 or less, all I know is to eat.

(ceiling lights-is it so called? of Tangs Dynasty Hotel... noticeable at entrance)

There were a variety of food offered, from chicken, beef to the sweets of the tropics… anything you think you can digest is welcome to consume… even the table I believe(LOL), probably if MR Tazmanian Devil was with me… everything presented will be… edible…

(found this man standing... right under the light... hows the effect? like he is standing alone there...)
We ate, and ate and ate… and was quite full that time. Everyone ate everything they could, coz we paid for it… didn’t we..?
Ok, that was the bufeeettteeee… yet few days after that, we found a place which offers a much cheaper price for a much more amount of food. We should have went there… but its ok… we will come again.
Psst… if you know a place with good food at good price… inform me….

Elvis & Minnie Wedding in BnW

This time im uploading another version of photos from the same event- Elvis & Minnie Wedding which is converted into mono or Black & White. i adjusted the color balance to let the tone stand out a bit. some of the pictures may look unnatural but still, the point of appreciation here is the lightings.

Wish you good luck in everything... as you view the pictures i mean... and hopefully.. the luck continues..(wait a sec, why did i wish luck instead of...) nah~ whatever... thanks for viewing though...

My Bridal Models & Me 2

Here is another post of my models and me section. they are not exactly my models actually. they are just acting as my models. we were trying out some of my friends bridal gowns and we begin posing here and there like models.

i didn't use my Pentax K10D since its out of energy. however, this shot was taken using my Canon Powershot A540. edited it a bit in Photoshop... did a bit of touch up... and publish it for you.... enjoy....

My Bridal Models & Me

While viewing the thumbnails, you figured out that I have a bridal shop, or anything to do with the bridal world? Nah, almost correct yet not that close(^wink^). Its 10 hours towards Christmas and me and my friends went to our-another friends shop to see what she has to offer us.

The shop was still new to people in our hometown. (ill mention the name when its well prepared for your means). We entered and begin testing a few samples of gowns and dresses. ME? i tested none… I went there with only one purpose… to train myself in bridal photography. We didn’t have a good background that time, as the bridal shop doesn’t have any photographer yet, (they are still new.. I mentioned it didn’t i?)…. So my present that evening was not only to test and train, but try to capture some nice pictures for the owner the use as promotional samples.

This was my first time in taking such pictures, but anyway, everything turned out well. My models (obviously my friends) felt pretty awkward with the modeling pose. Yet after flipping through some bridal magazines and practicing imagine-myself kind of things, they eventually made some good pose.

As you can see, (if you are a dress concerned person) you’ll notice some mistake in the models. Well, please forgive them since its their first, and they… just ignore it…..

Whatever happened that day, we were quite satisfied with the humble outcome, although with lots of weakness in preparation and settings, yet we still manage to get something good.

Yea… rite…..

Elvis & Minnie Wedding

i was assigned to capture my friends wedding in my hometown a.k.a grown-villa... its very nice to be able to help your friends in their most precious moments in their life.
here are some of their pictures that i took... enjoy them!
